Welcome to OC Shield Orange County’s public/private sector partnership program that works to enhance security, safety and the quality of life in Orange County. Bringing together Law Enforcement, Fire Safety, Public Health, and private sector security professionals to engage in networking, information sharing and explore best practices related to safety, security and crime solutions. OC Shield utilizes subject matter experts to train our membership six times a year in a variety of topics ranging from active shooter response, workplace violence prevention, insider threat, incendiary explosive device recognition, to name a few.
OC Shield is proud to be a partner in NYPD’s National Shield Network connecting its membership to a larger program encompassing cities across the nation expanding our information sharing platform. Connecting security professionals, coast to coast, bringing wide spread experience and expertise in security strategies addressing an ever-changing threat landscape, natural or man-made.
OC Shield currently hosts a membership representing all 16 DHS designated Critical Infrastructure Sectors. Critical InfrastructureThere are 16 critical infrastructure sectors whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof. Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21): Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience advances a national policy to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning, and resilient critical infrastructure. This directive supersedes Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7.
